Main purpose of the job
Reporting to the Utility Supervisor, this position is responsible for carrying out assignments to support the needs of the Maintenance & Engineering Department.
Role and Activity
- Receives stores, issues, and controls all materials required for operation and maintenance of the factory.
- Permanent positions at the waste water treatment facility as a waste water/Refrigeration trainee.
- Help some with Utility Operator positions.
- First priority is Waste-Water attendant duties then within a 6-month and completion of designed training courses slowly teach this Trainee ammonia operations, the long term goal (1-2 years) is over a period of time move into the Utility Ammonia Technician Role
- Also Trainee will be taught Psm-Rmp elements and assist the Psm-Rmp lead person and the Utility supervisor in those elements.
- Assist in and learn the repair and rebuild of mechanical equipment including pumps, seals, bearings, Ammonia Refrigeration systems, HVAC’s, boilers & Air Compressors.
- Assist and learn to do PM’s on specified utility equipment.
- Must follow the utility Site specific training program (See Below).
- Train in basic mechanical and electrical skills.
- Represent The Froneri Way of working through the behaviors and characteristics in our Operating Model and Core Values
- Train on Industrial Refrigeration, HVAC, Boilers and Air Compressors.
- Follow the RETA certification program.

WORK ENVIRONEMENT
In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.
The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens.
The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is $31.29 per hour.
