Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Supply Chain & Logistics Analyst with strong import/export expertise and a proven background in manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in both international and domestic shipping and receiving, with a solid understanding of transportation methods (air, sea, and land), customs brokerage, and regulatory compliance, including HazMat handling. This role requires the ability to accurately read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOM) to identify and verify parts, ensuring precise documentation and order fulfillment. Candidates must be proficient in preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, coordinating full container loads, and overseeing the physical preparation and loading of transportation units. Success in this position depends on advanced Excel proficiency, sharp analytical thinking, and the ability to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies. Additional responsibilities include quoting and tracking shipments, managing logistics operations with a focus on Mexico trade, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the efficient, compliant, and timely flow of goods across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track the import and export of raw materials to and from the facility and parent company.
- Review and interpret bills of materials to ensure accurate shipping, receiving, and documentation.
- Identify misplaced, out-of-order, or incorrect items in the supply chain and take corrective actions promptly.
- Create and maintain shipping documentation, including packing lists, invoices, picking lists, and bills of lading.
- Prepare accurate records and reports using Excel, including advanced functions for data tracking and analysis.
- Ensure all shipments comply with applicable import/export regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by reconciling shipping data with physical counts.
- Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies in shipping documentation or inventory records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within logistics and supply chain operations.
Work Environment:
- Physical: This role requires regular physical activity including standing, lifting, bending, driving forklifts and working in outdoor/warehouse conditions.
- Schedule: Full-time, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM with Overtime (May include early morning or late shifts based on container schedules)
Qualifications
- 2–4 years in logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Hands-on involvement with domestic and international shipments and working knowledge of import/export procedures, including customs documentation and Incoterms.
- Proven ability to create and review shipping documents such as packing lists, invoices, picking lists, and bills of lading.
- Experience reading and interpreting a Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure order accuracy.
- Manufacturing industries with complex material flows preferred (e.g., boatbuilding, aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment).
- Candidates from freight forwarding companies, customs brokers, or 3PL providers are highly valued for their documentation and compliance expertise
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Experience using ERP systems or logistics management software to track shipments and reconcile data.
- History of identifying errors, misplaced items, or out-of-sequence materials in supply chain operations and resolving them quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or import/export operations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Experience creating shipping documents (packing lists, invoices, bills of lading, picking lists).
- Familiarity with import/export compliance processes and documentation.
