The Food Shelf Driver is responsible for day-to-day pickup and deliveries for the Food Shelf, including handling donations internally and externally, stocking to ensure adequate food supply, and assisting with various food shelf projects. This position requires a valid driver’s license and heavy lifting is required.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Driver to pick up retail rescue food from local grocery stores and donation drives.
- Unload donation deliveries and food bank deliveries, tracking weights as appropriate.
- Sort and stock deliveries, including stocking front client area.
- Assist with mobile food shelf, including packing, delivering and preparation.
- Assist with food deliveries to local partners.
- Assist Food Shelf Manager with various daily tasks, including general upkeep and cleaning of the food shelf warehouse.
- Works collaboratively with other staff, clients, partners, and volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High school education, post-secondary training or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related industry.
Knowledge of:
- Applicable policies, procedures and regulations covering specific areas of assignment.
- Principles and practices of conflict resolution, customer service and outreach.
- Local community resources and regional community services programs.
- Principles of record keeping and records management.
Skill in:
- Working effectively with persons of diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid Minnesota State Driver’s License, proof of insurance and review of Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a warehouse environment which requires heavy lifting of food boxes and items. This position requires routine bending, twisting, and lifting of at least 50 pounds throughout the day. Must have access to reliable transportation. Ability to drive a motor vehicle required. A job in this category requires walking and standing to a significant degree.
