Team members on the Hiring and Training Associates (HATA) team are there to assist with the recruiting, hiring, and training of new team members at Partnerships in Community Living. A HATA is a person who receives supports and will be a shining advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and works hard to provide informed insights in interviews, start conversations at recruiting events to get people excited about working at Partnerships in Community Living, and train new employees by showing what self-advocacy looks like and sharing why autonomy is important to them.
Wage: $15.05/Hour
Position Type: Part-Time, generally 5 to 15 hours weekly. May include evenings, weekends, and occasional travel as scheduled.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age when starting employment.
- Must have and show basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Well-organized.
- Cooperative and willing to learn.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak basic English.
Job Duties:
- Participate in interviews, tasks may include, asking interview questions, running group projects, and computer assessments.
- Attend recruiting events and start conversations promoting PCL and our open jobs to get people interested in working with PCL.
- Assist in training of new PCL employees in Orientation and ongoing trainings for current employees.
- Educate others with a positive attitude about people who experience disabilities.
Expectations:
- Read your emails and check your Google calendar a minimum of one time per week and respond in a timely manner.
- Fill out, check, and approve your timesheet on a weekly basis.
- Attend monthly team meetings and participate in developing team goals and objectives.
- Be on time to all scheduled work functions and stay until you are scheduled to leave.
- Show up ready to participate.
- If you do not understand something or are needing assistance, don't be afraid to ask for help.
Certifications and Training:
- Must pass required DHS background check and Protective Service Investigations.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening for illegal substances in the state of Oregon.
- Complete and maintain all certifications as required by the position, PCL, and other governing agencies.
- New hire orientation and training must be completed within 60 days of hire.
