Summary We are on a mission to create more meaningful moments between pets and their people. A crucial part of delivering on that promise is ensuring that the data driving our operations - especially in inventory and pricing - is clean, structured, and standardized. As a Taxonomy Analyst, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive, standardized taxonomy for veterinary services, procedures, and products across our organization. Your work will enhance our ability to deliver better care, enable strategic pricing initiatives, and integrate disparate systems under a unified data structure. This role will also be responsible for mapping inventory items to global inventory codes to improve procurement, analytics, and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Taxonomy Development & Maintenance
- Build and maintain a standardized taxonomy for veterinary procedures, medications, services, and products across all hospitals.
- Work with medical, operational, and IT stakeholders to ensure taxonomy aligns with real-world workflows and industry standards.
- Data Enhancement & Governance
- Identify and resolve inconsistencies in existing datasets.
- Establish rules and documentation for data classification to support scalable data governance.
- Inventory Mapping & Standardization
- Map local inventory SKUs and naming conventions to global inventory codes.
- Partner with procurement, finance, operations and PIMS teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in product categorization.
- Support Strategic Pricing Initiatives
- Collaborate with pricing and finance teams to align taxonomy with pricing strategies.
- Enable comparative pricing analysis and margin optimization by ensuring consistent categorization of services and goods.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Implementation
- Serve as a liaison between IT, medical teams, and business operations to ensure taxonomy is implemented effectively across systems.
- Provide training and documentation for internal stakeholders to support adoption and compliance.
Preferred Experience and Education
- Background in data analysis, taxonomy, or data governance.
- Experience in veterinary industry (preferred).
- Strong Excel and data management skills
- Excellent communication and project management abilities.
- Passion for improving animal health and the veterinary care experience through better data and consistent work streams.
