About the Department
Position Duties
- May serve as a lead to inmates working in the warehouse facility, which includes: prioritizing and assigning work; training staff on work methods and procedures; and/or, performing other related activities.
- Maintains supply inventory database; updates database as materials, supplies, and/or equipment are added or deleted; generates related reports to verify inventory levels, determining re-order activity and usage rates.
- Distributes and issues supplies and materials based on incoming requests and orders.
- Assembles emergency equipment packets and/or ready issue bags.
- Initiates orders to replenish supply inventories utilizing established guidelines and procedures.
- Performs quality and quantity checks of materials and equipment received against specifications and amounts ordered; places incoming goods in appropriate areas within the facility.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of records related to warehouse activities.
- Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of assigned warehouse facility.
- Participates in physical inventories; prepares related reports.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Ability to work closely with others as a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to prepare and present clear, accurate, concise, and objective written and oral reports.
- Ability to meet requirements and maintain required licensures and certifications as well as agency required in-service training.
- Ability to adhere to the standards and principles of the agency's core values and professionally represent the agency.
- Ability to report to work timely, consistently and as scheduled.
- Ability to perform all functions of the job classification without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the work place.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; AND
- 1 year of experience in a store, warehouse, or inventory control function; required
- 1 year of customer service experience required; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Other Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, carry or pull a minimum of 25 pounds independently.
- Position has an increased risk of occupational exposure to hazardous and infectious materials.
