MSM Technology is currently searching for a high-energy Sr. Vice President of Growth to expand their existing business. MSM Technology is currently at ~$30M/yr seeking to expand with double digit growth each year for the next 4 years. MSM Technology requires a seasoned business development executive who brings a strategic perspective and a track record of success in growing and expanding new/existing business to assist with 30M/yr new growth. T This critical role requires a seasoned business development executive with a strategic focus and a proven track record of success in developing and expanding business opportunities, particularly within the Defense and Federal Civilian sectors. The ideal candidate will leverage MSM’s core technical capabilities and possess the expertise to lead large-scale captures and secure complex services and solutions contracts within the Federal Government space. Candidate will possess domain knowledge and creative energy/aptitude to leverage that core expertise to develop new prime contractor opportunities.


•Strategic Growth Leadership: Leverage domain knowledge and inherent creative aptitude to drive the development of new prime contractor opportunities and expand existing business lines.

•Market Presence and Relationships: Maintain a robust personal brand, with deep industry and customer visibility, and cultivate strong relationships with vendors, partners, and government entities.

•Business Plan Development: Provide a comprehensive Call Plan from Day 1, aimed at securing prime positions and driving MSM’s growth strategies.

•Organizational Leadership: Shape and drive a positive, winning culture within MSM’s growth organization, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

•Prime and Subcontract Business Focus: Strategically prioritize new business endeavors with 70-80% prime work and 20-30% subcontract work.

•Executive Reporting: Report directly to the President/CEO and function as a collaborative partner to the leadership team, contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans to advance MSM’s mission and objectives and profitability.

•Pipeline Development: Oversee full life cycle business development activities, including strategic planning, bid and proposal (B&P) resource management, target identification, capture strategies, proposal management, contract awards, and customer relations.

•Strategic Advisory: Provide key insights and leadership on strategic planning, competitive intelligence, market analysis, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy.

•Long-term and Short-term Alignment: Bridge the company’s long-term strategic goals with near-term business actions, collaborating with the SVP of Technology and the SVP of Strategic Operations to maximize resource utilization and address customer relationship needs.

•Continuous Improvement: Lead MSM through an ongoing strategy development process focusing on IT modernization offerings and fostering organizational alignment.

•Operational Support: Refine and support MSM’s established annual and multi-year business development and planning processes, including revenue forecasting, talent acquisition, and technology investments.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

•Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience with 15+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s Degree with 10+ years of experience.

•Minimum of 8 years of executive-level experience in business development and growth is required.

•Minimum tenure of 3 years in the most recent position, demonstrating stability and sustained impact.


Professional Experience:

•Proven track record of achieving growth within the $50-100 million range.

•Demonstrated ability to contribute to and support the development of strategic growth roadmaps, including defining efficiencies, new product development, and internal research and development.

•Experience establishing and driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with strategic objectives to drive outcomes for program and business growth.

•Proven success in developing opportunities within federal contracting, particularly in areas including IT Modernization and winning single awards exceeding $30 million.


Business Development and Leadership Skills:

•Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including: opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits and demonstrations, customer relationship development, relationship development with competitors, written submissions (market surveys, RFI responses, support to proposals), team leadership, etc.

•Experience in participating in M&A opportunities

•Proven ability to drive and achieve results through statistical analysis, forecasting methods, and their implications on strategic, financial, and operational levels.

•Excellent communications skills – demonstrated through written and oral presentations, development of technical papers, volumes, or similar products

•Ability to empower and engage people and instill drive and passion into the organization
