Clearwater Credit Union is accepting applications for a dedicated Payments Fraud Specialist to join our Payments Team. This pivotal role safeguards our members and our institution by identifying, investigating, and addressing fraudulent alerts in real time.

As a Payments Fraud Specialist, you will be at the forefront of fraud prevention, working closely with fraud analytics platforms. You’ll respond to alerts, proactively reach out to members when suspicious activity is detected, and serve as a trusted guide on recovery next steps should fraud occur. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and member-first mentality will help us deliver exceptional service and protect our community.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external members, understanding their concerns and supporting them through the fraud resolution process.
  • Review and monitor transaction behavior across multiple payment channels to detect, investigate and shut down fraudulent activity. These platforms include ACH, debit and credit cards, checks, wires, and digital banking.
  • Provide member education and support by assisting members in understanding fraud risks and recognizing suspicious activity as well as offering resources and guidance to help members resolve fraud related issues and protect their accounts moving forward.
  • Initiate the dispute process for suspected fraudulent transactions by collecting required documents and members statements in accordance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
  • Manage both incoming and outgoing member communication via phone to support fraud prevention and recovery.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

A successful candidate would have a keen eye for detail and patterns to analyze potential fraudulent situations. The candidate would be able to communicate with empathy, clarity, and professionalism during difficult conversations.
