Position Title: Stage Driver / Runner

Department:  2025 Oklahoma State Fair

Reports To:   Executive VP of Marketing / Entertainment

Supervises: N/A

Classification: Seasonal, Hourly

Pay Range: $15/hr (+overtime)

Job Responsibilities

  • Work daily for 11 consecutive days on a flexible daily schedule for an average shift of 12-hours per day for the full duration of the Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City, Sept. 11-21, 2025.
  • Knowledgably, safely and responsibly operate an 8-passenger SUV, 15-passenger transport van, or other similar passenger vehicle that will be provided by Oklahoma State Fair. 
  • Safely transport entertainers, stage crew, and equipment to and from performance areas and other locations within the fairgrounds and surrounding areas including airports, hotels and retail establishments.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with stage managers, production staff, and entertainment coordinators.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment when needed.
  • Remain onsite and available during shifts to respond quickly to transportation needs.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Follow all traffic laws, venue rules, and Fair safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
  • Commitment to being available onsite during shifts when not actively driving.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (preferred but not required).
  • Prior experience in event transportation or working with entertainers in a fast-paced, live-entertainment environment is a plus.

General Requirements

  • Fully commit to working the entire duration of the 2025 Oklahoma State Fair, September 11-21.
  • Have access to daily, reliable transportation.
  • Be positive, enthusiastic and cooperative.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional, calm demeanor in all situations.
  • Be flexible as job instructions may change from time to time.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully in English (speak, read, write).
  • Maintain a high standard of appearance and grooming (i.e., clean, wrinkle free clothing, proper uniform/attire, close attention to personal hygiene).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must have the ability to work in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
  • Extended hours, nights and weekends required.
  • Frequent or continual movement covering long distances with ease and normal physical mobility.
  • Work outdoors in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions.
  • Regularly lift, carry and put away items weighing up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and carry heavier items and/or assist others in lifting heavier objects, as job demands.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Other prolonged and/or intermittent physical exertions may be required including, but not limited to, seeing, hearing, lifting, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas.

Additional Information

  • Scheduled Shift – Average 12 hours per day for 11 consecutive days.
  • Pay - $15/hr with overtime pay after 40 hours/week.
  • Must be available for flexible daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
  • Identification badge will be provided.
  • Paychecks will be MAILED post-Fair.

This will be a temporary, part-time and hourly position for employment encompassing the 2025 Oklahoma State Fair, September 11-21. No other benefits, except those required by law, apply. Applications will continue to be accepted until position has been filled.
