Job Title: Manufacturing Utility Production Worker
Department: Production / Operations
Reports To: Production Supervisor or Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Utility Production Worker plays a key role in supporting day-to-day plant operations by performing a variety of tasks across multiple production areas. This position ensures smooth workflow, assists in equipment operation, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and provides backup support to various production lines as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate, monitor, and adjust manufacturing equipment under direction from supervisors or lead operators.
• Assist with production line setup, changeovers, and shutdown procedures.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Transport raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products between workstations.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records as required.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines.
• Support multiple departments or lines based on daily production needs.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules, including the use of PPE.
• Assist in inventory counts and material handling.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Work Environment:
• Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to machinery, moving parts, noise, and temperature variations.
• Requires adherence to safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective equipment.
Schedule:
• Full-time, may include weekends, overtime, depending on production needs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, diagrams, and safety protocols.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing tools/equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs. , and work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise).
• Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
