Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Regional Senior Credit Administrator. The Regional Senior Credit Administrator (RSCA) oversees the credit quality of the loan portfolio of a specific assigned region. The RSCA works with the Regional President and lending personnel of the region to screen new loan applicants, approve loans, monitor current credits on the books for credit quality and tickler to ensure loans are accurately rated and financial/covenant and other tickler requirements are collected and in compliance with the loan requirements. The RSCA position also has direct oversight of the company’s Portfolio Managers (PMs).
- Screen potential loan requests through the pre-flight process. This entails working with the Bankers to arrive at the correct loan structure for the borrower and assist with the analysis of the borrower if needed.
- Communication with customers, accountants, and attorneys, as necessary.
- Review loan requests and decision the loan.
- Conduct Commercial Rolling Loan Review with the Commercial and Business Bankers to review past due credits, coming due credits, pipeline of loan requests, annual reviews, review the collection of financial and covenant requirements to ensure the borrower is in compliance with loan requirements, and other items as needed.
- Recommend accurate risk codes for credits.
- Conduct training with PMs and lending personnel of the bank as needed.
- Participate in committees or workstreams as needed to represent the credit function.
- Act as a liaison with the OCC and/or loan review for the credits within the portfolio of assigned region.
- Maintain working knowledge of legal requirements for properly documenting complex loans, perfecting security interests, and obtaining necessary documentation showing corporate customer’s proper authorization for entering binding loan contracts.
- Monitor, evaluate and coach PMs in portfolio management duties including, underwriting new opportunities; renewals; modifications; Annual Review Jobs (ARJs); covenant testing.
- Ensure the PMs understand the lines of business they support, are challenged in their roles and multi-task to meet goals and deadlines.
- Confirm PM work-flow is completed via monitoring of PM pipeline and holding PM Team meetings.
- Responsible to ensure all regions/lines of business concerns are addressed and that all PMs follow the company’s process and procedure.
- Responsible for adherence and consistency to company’s credit policy/underwriting standards via the credit approval presentation or any other credit action document.
- Advocate for a collaborative/communicative/team-oriented credit administration culture throughout the company.
- Ensure PMs participate in the rolling loan review meetings, as required.
- Ensure that asset quality of the commercial loan portfolio is maintained to company standards and adhere to speed to market expectations on credit approval presentations/other credit action documents.
- Ensure annual training for all PMs to stay abreast with underwriting standards, etc.
Education/Experience Preferred:
- College Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
- Significant experience in analyzing large, complex commercial credits.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in a financial field
- Proficiency in financial analysis, balance sheet, income statements and cash flow analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Proficiency in computer skills necessary in a Window environment.
- Ability to read and interpret legal writings/documents or prior legal training and/or experience.
- Commercial, Commercial Real Estate and/or Agriculture lending experience required.
- Knowledge of appraisals and USPAP requirements.
- Knowledge of environmental requirements.
- Time management skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and travel.
Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
