Description

Do you enjoy being outdoors and creating positive experiences for visitors? Do you have experience in parks, recreation, maintenance and public safety? If so, please consider applying and joining our Facilities Team at the Central Community Branch YMCA as our Park Monitor. 


The Park Monitor plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all park visitors. This position is responsible for patrolling park grounds, monitoring public use of facilities, enforcing park rules, and performing essential cleaning and safety duties. The Park Monitor acts as a visible presence in the park to deter unsafe behavior and ensure a positive experience for all guests. 


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Patrol park grounds regularly to monitor visitor activity and ensure public safety
  • Enforce park rules and guidelines with professionalism and courtesy
  • Provide assistance and information to park visitors as needed
  • Empty all trash cans and dispose of waste properly
  • Keep the entire park free of trash, debris, and hazardous materials
  • Follow safety guidelines when picking up and disposing of hazardous items
  • Clear basketball courts, splash pad, and playground surfaces of debris and safety hazards
  • Monitor the splash pad and playground areas to ensure proper and safe usage
  • Report any safety concerns or facility issues to the Facilities Director promptly
  • Assist with light maintenance duties and support park programming or events
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations
  • Work a schedule that aligns with park operating hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Responsible for working knowledge of all Branch policies, programs, & procedures.
  • Provide support of the Association’s charitable giving, including the Annual Campaign, grant management, donor stewardship, and special events resulting in achievement of the Association and Branch philanthropic goals.
  • Provide support to the Diversity and Inclusion Global Network in order to achieve Association goals, mission, and vision.
  • Participates in Branch staff meetings and Branch/Association Special Events as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Hourly


Schedule: Tell us your availability!

Looking for coverage for the following times: Monday through Fridays from 9:00am to 5:30pm


Pay: $15.00/hour, Access to facilities to all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave
