This position is within Raleigh Radiology Facilities, a free-standing outpatient imaging center at our Wake Forest location.

The primary function of the registered technologist at Raleigh Radiology is to provide diagnostic radiology procedures. The technologist is responsible for the coordination of patient care. She/He follows established protocols, policies, procedures, and specific instructions.

**Hours of Work: 9:00 am-5:30 pm/ Monday-Friday**

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures and assist with specialized tests.
  • Administer contrast agents as required.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and ensure readiness for use.
  • Follow Raleigh Radiology’s policies and professional care standards.
  • Support physicians and coworkers in patient care delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
  • Participate in supply management and cost-effective practices.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist with patient stabilization when needed.
  • May assist with scheduling and other administrative tasks.

Patient Care

  • Obtain and document patient history, medications, allergies, and vital signs.
  • Assess and monitor patients’ physical and psychological conditions throughout their visit.
  • Provide patient education and aftercare instructions.
  • Communicate findings and patient status to referring physicians.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in RIS and other systems.

Safety & Infection Control

  • Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  • Report and follow up on unsafe equipment or incidents.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is functional and available.

Other Duties

  • Provide age-appropriate care based on developmental needs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

III. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE

A. Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or commiserate experience with ARRT registration.

B. Experience: Previous experience in a busy office or hospital is preferred.

C. Certification:

1. AHA BLS certification is required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Continuous AHA BLS certification is required.

2. Registered as Radiologic Technologists with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R)(ARRT), at time of hire.

D. Licensure: None

IV. DESIRED SKILLS

Basic patient care skills, including first aid and BLS. Excellent technical skills in diagnostic radiography are required. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions based on patient condition, and ability to follow directions. Flexibility, dependability, and professionalism are required.
