Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced health administrators to join the Central North West BPT Consortium team for a 12-month fixed-term position.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
This position spans five separate Victorian Health Services within the Central North West Consortium, while under the aegis of Northern Health; Austin Health; Bendigo Health; Echuca Healthcare Group; Grampians Health Horsham; and Northern Health.
About the Role:
This role requires excellent communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and strong experience in healthcare administration. The incumbent will have day-to-day contact with an extensive variety of staff, particularly Training Program Directors, Chief Medical Registrars, Basic Physician Trainees and BPT Education Officers.
This role is responsible for providing high-level management support to the Consortium Directors of Physician Education and to the Consortium Management Committee, and is directly responsible for arranging the BPT examination preparation program and RACP Divisional Clinical examinations, and providing oversight of RACP accreditation at all Central North West Consortium sites. The role has a strong focus on strengthening collaborative partnerships and cultivating continuous improvement across the Consortium.
The consortium manager will spend time each week at both the Northern and Austin hospitals, with some travel to Bendigo, Echuca and Horsham required for examination preparation, accreditation meetings, and site visits. There may be opportunity for some work-from home on negotiation.
This position is a full-time 12-month fixed term contract (parental leave backfill).
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in a public hospital environment and good working knowledge of junior medical workforce recruitment, rostering and training requirements, preferably in physician pathways
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and handle confidential matters with discretion
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining high level of attention to detail
- Good self-motivation and resourcefulness, with demonstrated problem-solving approach
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Intermediate-Advanced computer skills in Microsoft applications and Adobe Acrobat, and basic knowledge of website maintenance
