About the Department

The Human Resources Division is seeking an analytical, results-oriented Management Analyst I to assist in the maintenance of the County’s classification system and pay plans.

This integral position on the Human Resources team will be responsible for conducting classification studies; auditing positions and recommending the assignment of positions to classifications/salary ranges; writing classification specifications, conducting salary surveys; preparing reports of findings and recommendations; and assisting in the development, communication and implementation of the annual pay plans.

Position Duties

This position on the Human Resources team will be responsible for the following:
• Assist in the administration of the County’s position classification system.
• Assist in developing and implementing annual pay plans and range adjustments, as well as assessment of the financial implications of compensation actions.
• Reviews and analyzes requests for salary adjustments due to reassignments, reclassifications, interim assignments, temporary salary adjustments etc.; prepare findings and recommendations.
• Research and compile internal and external data for compensation analysis; perform and analyze salary surveys, identifying market trends and competitive positioning of the County’s classifications.
• Collaborates with Divisions/Departments to create and update job descriptions; conducts job evaluations and prepares supporting documentation for review and approval; assists with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance, including analysis to ensure proper classification and adherence to federal and state regulations.
• Creates communication materials and delivers training to promote understanding and transparency of compensation plans and structures.
• Assists in the administration of the County’s retirement plans (FRS, 457).
• Maintain compensation records and ensure data integrity in HR systems.
• Prepare various reports, documentation, and correspondence related to classification, pay adjustments, and compensation projects.
• Serve as a resource for managers and employees on compensation policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay informed on compensation trends through meetings, training, and professional networks.
• Performs other related duties, as requested, or required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Two (2) years of related experience.
Candidates without a degree should possess four (4) additional years of related experience.
Fingerprinting required.

  • Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications. 
  • Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency.  The County’s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
