The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting functions across the Order-to-Cash (OTC) cycle, fixed assets, lease accounting, FFA allocations, and corporate tax filings. This role combines operational process ownership with strong technical accounting skills, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting for revenue, assets, leases, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on OTC process expertise, experience in multi-entity environments, and the ability to manage both recurring close activities and ad-hoc projects.
Key Responsibilities
Order-to-Cash (OTC) Accounting
- Oversee the end-to-end OTC accounting process, from sales order creation to customer payment application.
- Review and validate invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with contracts and POs.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and partner with AR to resolve disputes and improve collections.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of revenue and receivables.
- Reconcile customer accounts and deferred revenue balances monthly.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure smooth billing processes.
Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
- Maintain and update lease schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
- Record lease additions, modifications, and terminations in the accounting system.
- Calculate and record monthly lease expense, interest, and amortization.
- Reconcile lease liability and right-of-use asset accounts monthly.
- Support lease disclosures for external reporting and audits.
Tax Filings & Compliance
- Lead preparation and coordination of corporate income tax, sales tax, VAT/GST, and other indirect tax filings in collaboration with external advisors.
- Maintain organized documentation to support tax returns and audits.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with changing tax regulations.
Month-End Close & General Ledger
- Prepare and review journal entries for OTC, fixed assets, leases, accruals, and allocations.
- Perform assigned balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Support intercompany settlements and reconciliations.
- Provide reporting and variance analysis for management and FP&A.
Audit & Process Improvement
- Act as the primary contact for OTC, fixed asset, lease, and tax-related audit requests.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Support ERP optimization and automation initiatives (NetSuite preferred).
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including OTC process involvement.
- Experience managing fixed assets, leases, and allocations.
- Working knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
- Knowledge of corporate and tax compliance.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred:
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- Experience in multi-entity, global organizations.
- Familiarity with revenue and billing systems integrated with ERP.
- Proven track record of process improvement in OTC and asset/lease management.
