Overview:

Location: Quincy, IL
Pay Range: $16.12 - $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some variability based on departmental needs)

About the Role:

Quincy Medical Group is looking for a caring and motivated Medical Assistant to join our Orthopedics team. In this role, you’ll support a fast-paced specialty clinic that cares for patients with joint, bone, and muscle concerns — from injuries to chronic conditions. You’ll help ensure our patients have a smooth, informed experience from check-in to follow-up.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Rooming patients and collecting vital signs, medical history, and orthopedic-specific concerns
  • Preparing exam rooms with appropriate orthopedic supplies and materials
  • Assisting with mobility assessments and gathering imaging orders for X-rays or MRIs
  • Applying or removing durable medical equipment (e.g., braces, slings, crutches) under provider direction
  • Coordinating orthopedic referrals, therapy appointments, or surgical consults
  • Accurately documenting in the EMR and supporting providers during patient visits
  • Educating patients on post-visit care instructions and recovery expectations
  • Helping maintain clinic flow and ensuring exam rooms are clean and fully stocked

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred (certification not required)
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting, especially orthopedics or sports medicine, is a plus
  • Comfort with assisting patients who have limited mobility or are using assistive devices
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • A patient-first attitude with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
