Dietary Assistant/Kitchen Aide
Location: Croft House Apartments - Aiken, SC
Summary
Responsible for assisting in maintaining the efficient operation and upkeep of the kitchen area at the Croft House.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Dietary Supervisor in the operation of the kitchen area.
Experience in cooking and assist with all tasks.
Responsible for the preparation of daily meals due to the vacation time taken.
Responsible for insuring the temperature logs on food, dishwasher, dish sinks, refrigerators, walk-in cooler and freezer are correct and documented daily when Dietary Manager is not working.
Prepare salads and desserts daily.
Roll silverware, put milk in trays, fill glasses with ice, put fruit in serving dishes daily.
After meals, put dishes in dishwasher and wipe down all tables.
Responsible for sweeping & mopping floors in kitchen and cleaning out oven.
Responsible for Facility Cleaning Chart to be done daily/weekly/monthly.
Assist in putting groceries away.
Able to work rotating weekends which allows the other staff to be off on Mondays
Other duties may be assigned that may be required as deemed necessary by NHE, Inc.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current ServSafe certification is required.
LANGUAGE/MATHEMATICAL/REASONING ABILITY/OTHER SKILLS & ABILITITES
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, residents/clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
