Biddeford Schools are seeking:
Special Education Board- Behavior Interventionist
To provide consistent expertise in the area of behavioral management for special education students. To provide consultation to all teachers in the behavioral needs of students. To assist in the development of a systematic approach to behavioral interventions.
Brief Job Duties:
Special Education Behavior Interventionist to work under the supervision of the district BCBA, IEP coordinators, and Special Education Director to provide support to teachers and students who may be struggling with challenging behaviors. The ideal candidate would be one who has received coursework/training in the principles involved in behavior change, and/or someone looking to pursue their certification to become a BCaBA or BCBA. Clinical supervision is available.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
- Participate in required workshops at the request of the Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
- Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
- Alerts the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
Full Job Description
Certification/License:
Certification as an Education Technician III from the Maine Department of Education -OR-
Special Education Teacher-OR-
School Psychologist. - OR-
Current License as Board Certified Behavior Analyst or completed all coursework and eligible to take the license exam -OR-
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: Knowledge and Experience developing evidence-based programming for students with low-incidence disabilities.
Experience in developing and implementing behavioral interventions and behavior plans
Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis
Live and Work in the Biddeford, Maine Community
