• Strong payroll, analytical & computational skills
• Knowledge of IRS/State regulations related to payroll taxes
• Knowledge of accounting principals
• PC Knowledge-advanced word processing and spreadsheet application
• Proficient in Excel and worksheet application
• Proficiency in the use of a computer system and software appropriate for budget and payroll
• Good communication and organizational skills

1. Assist in the preparation of in-house payroll.
2. Handle payroll deductions and revisions.
3. Prepare reports and checks for proper agencies covering all payroll deductions.
4. Handle deposits for all deductions.
5. Maintain files and records related to payroll deductions.
6. Make proper pension deductions when the new employee is certified; file quarterly pension report.
7. Responsible for filing quarterly and annual reports for Federal and State Income Tax, Social Security and Unemployment.
8. Responsibile for depositing tax liabilities.
9. Responsible for Payroll Agency Bank Account and Salary Redirection Account, including monthly reconciliation.
10. Prepare all tax forms and payments relating to payroll matters.
11. Maintain confidentiality as required and appropriate.
12. Perform additional duties as requested by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.

Employees of the Morris School District hired after the effective date who do not reside in the State of New Jersey at the time of hire have one year from the effective date of employment to relocate their primary residence to New Jersey. Employees of the school district hired prior to the September 1, 2011 effective date of this Act are grandfathered and are not required to relocate to New Jersey.
