As a Sustainability Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and reporting data to support River Island’s sustainability goals. Working closely with suppliers, factories, and cross-functional teams, you will ensure data accuracy and provide insights that inform business decisions. You will design, develop, and automate dashboards and reports to track supplier performance and monitor energy and water usage across the business. Your analysis will play a critical role in guiding sustainability initiatives at all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead data collection and analysis to support sustainability performance and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track progress across key sustainability areas including supply chain transparency, human rights, carbon emissions, water usage, materials, fabrics and packaging data.
  • Ensure data quality through regular assessments, improving data integrity and reporting techniques.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain dashboards for the supplier scorecard.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements (e.g., EPR, Waste, EUDR, CBAM) and ensure compliance, including accurate tax calculations and submissions.
  • Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives through stakeholder engagement and data insight.
  • Present key insights and performance trends to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sustainability goals with business strategy.
  • Train and support suppliers in sustainability data collection and reporting processes aligning them with both the sustainability and supplier strategies.
  • Use data analysis to identify improvement actions and drive progress against sustainability strategy.
Skills:
  • Strong background in data analysis and reporting, with expertise in Excel (including pivot tables, macros), PowerQuery, and PowerBI.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Analytical and logical thinker with a problem-solving mindset and a drive to improve data accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to interpret and present data clearly to inform business decisions.
  • Highly self-motivated, organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
