About the Role:

The Orthopedic Spine Surgeon plays a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders of the spine, including degenerative diseases, trauma, deformities, and tumors. This position requires performing complex surgical procedures to restore function, alleviate pain, and improve the quality of life for patients with spinal conditions. The surgeon collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, physical therapists, and pain management specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Additionally, the role involves preoperative and postoperative patient care, ensuring optimal recovery and long-term outcomes. The Orthopedic Spine Surgeon also contributes to advancing clinical practices through research, education, and adherence to the latest evidence-based guidelines in spine surgery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.
  • Fellowship training in spine surgery or equivalent specialized training.
  • Board certification or eligibility in orthopedic surgery and spine surgery.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with minimally invasive spine surgery techniques.
  • Proficiency in advanced spinal instrumentation and navigation technologies.
  • Research experience with publications in peer-reviewed journals related to spine surgery.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary spine care programs and enhanced recovery protocols.
  • Additional certifications in pain management or rehabilitation medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and diagnose patients presenting with spinal disorders through clinical examination and diagnostic imaging.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include surgical and non-surgical interventions.
  • Perform a wide range of spine surgeries such as decompressions, fusions, disc replacement, and addressing traumatic injuries.
  • Manage preoperative preparation and postoperative care, including monitoring patient recovery and addressing complications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and participate in case discussions and treatment planning.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, research activities, and contribute to teaching medical students and residents.
  • Patient care, including pre-operative, planning, intra-operative care, and post-operative management.
