The position: We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team! This role is ideal for someone who thrives on leading the design, development, integration, and upkeep of diverse IT applications—including custom solutions and reporting tools—to drive smarter operations and greater business impact.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; or
- An additional four years of directly relevant experience in lieu of the required degree
- Certifications in web development or SQL development are highly desirable
- Minimum of eight years of hands-on experience in a web development environment
- At least three years developing applications using the .NET Framework and/or .NET Core
- Experience in the public or housing sectors is preferred
- Valid Washington State driver’s license with an insurable driving record
A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential job functions may be considered in place of the traditional requirements
What will you do?
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions and related technologies
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and data-related issues in both production and development environments
- Support and maintain legacy systems while contributing to modernization and migration efforts for improved scalability and performance
- Design and develop advanced T-SQL queries and optimized database objects with clear documentation to support high-performing SQL Server environments
- Collaborate with stakeholders and end users to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical specifications
- Create and maintain interactive reporting tools that enable data-driven decision-making
- Develop and support system integrations to ensure efficient data flow between internal platforms and external services
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to technology, tools, and development practices
- Contribute to the development and implementation of goals, work plans, and performance measures that support program objectives and agency strategies

SHA offers a hybrid work schedule for individuals in remote eligible positions. This position is not eligible for full remote work. Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Washington state and must be able to meet the required in-office schedule of at least two days per week. Additionally, the employer has determined that this position does not qualify for an H1 visa.
