Job Summary

IMMI, a growing and dynamic manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to join its team at corporate headquarters in Westfield, Indiana.  Founded in 1961, IMMI recently transitioned to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving team members the opportunity to become company owners and share in the company’s ongoing success. IMMI serves over eleven distinct markets, hundreds of customers, and operates globally.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a corporate finance management team with deep institutional knowledge—averaging over 15 years of tenure—and to engage cross-functionally with departments including plant and department managers, operations, purchasing, change management, and sales. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader who can analyze and summarize complex data, apply GAAP principles, and support the integrity of financial reporting and operational decision-making.

The Senior Plant Accountant will provide financial leadership for one or more manufacturing plants, serving as a key business partner to plant management. This role is central to supporting operational effectiveness, cost control, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and report weekly and monthly KPIs to the Plant Manager
  • Present monthly plant-level P&L to the executive leadership, including the COO and CFO
  • Lead month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and presentation of legal entity P&L to the corporate finance management team
  • Partner with plant operations to identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of product costing for assigned plant(s)
  • Analyze and report monthly manufacturing variances; lead corrective action plans as needed
  • Understand and audit all inter/intra-company transactions affecting the plant(s). 
  • Prepare annual plant budgets for plant expenses including direct labor requirements. 
  • Prepare monthly plant P&L forecast.
  • Support inventory accuracy, including obsolete inventory reviews, cycle count programs, and adjustments.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all month-end processes.
  • Respond to external audit requests and support annual audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP in all plant-level financial practices. 
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting 
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or plant environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, v-lookup, nested IF formulas required)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and departments 
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • High level of initiative, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
