Job Summary:
The Plant Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Plant Quality Management System (QMS), including product release, document control, product testing, and customer compliance. This role manages, trains, and develops the entire Quality team. The Quality Manager provides technical support to cross-functional teams to drive problem-solving, quality system enhancements, and overall business improvements. Key responsibilities include customer interaction on quality assurance matters, nonconformances or complaints, and quality system audits. The Quality Manager ensures customer protection through quality standards and collaborates closely with the Plant Manager to foster and improve a culture of quality throughout the facility. This is an on-site role.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibility:
- Maintains and continually improves the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Administrates plant’s corrective and preventive action program (CAPA) including investigation and resolution of customer complaints and internal findings.
- Liaise with customers, production, sales, supply chain, engineering, and all levels of management, including shop floor personnel.
- Serves as plant’s Quality Assurance (QA) representative in the Material Review Board (MRB).
- Serves as plant QA representative in customer and third-party audits.
- Analyses quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities; initiates corrective actions accordingly.
- Manage and ensure compliance with the plant calibration program.
- Works with R&D to support the development of new products and processes.
- Provides training and development in the use of quality tools to plant personnel.
- Responsible for staffing, training and development of subordinates consistent with department and corporate operating objectives.
- Manage and supervise all site quality personnel.
- Oversee product flow through all functional Quality Control (QC) stages of the production process.
Qualifications
Job Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably, or in a technical field.
- Five or more years of experience as a Quality Manager.
- Quality auditing knowledge and experience to ISO 9001, AS9100 or ISO 13485.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers, team members, and management.
- Plastics experience preferred.
