- Set-up, supervise, aid, and take-down the practices at your location.
- Develop and lead sports training programs for our youth sports program
- Teach players the fundamentals and techniques of the sport
- Motivate and encourage players to improve their skills and performance
- Analyze players' strengths and weaknesses and provide constructive feedback
- Plan and organize practice sessions, drills, and game strategies
- Ensure the health and safety of players during practices and games
- Serve as a role model and mentor for players, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork
- Maintain equipment and facilities used for practices and games
- Supervise and notify program director of any problems observed during a practice or that would pertain to the sports department.
- Maintain the equipment and game day bags and keep them in good condition
- Inform the program director of any equipment that needs to be replaced or that has gone missing.
- Keep ALL equipment storage areas used by Sports clean to the best of your abilities.
- Working knowledge of the YMCA's emergency procedures, and being able to implement these procedures in the event of an emergency.
- Monitor the quality, quantity, appearance, maintenance, and storage of all supplies and equipment needed for the program.
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with all staff, peers, YMCA members, program participants, and the general public.
- Attend all staff meetings, and bi-weekly meetings with the Program Director.
- Adhere to all regulations in accordance to state laws and requirements.
- Follow all safety, blood borne, and child abuse prevention guidelines.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coaches, and staff.

- Tuesdays/Thursdays: 4:30pm-6:45pm
- Saturdays: 9:00am-11:30am
- Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
- At least one year experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

- A positive image of the YMCA of East Valley (Highland YMCA) in the community.
- Sound management skills of the various components of the position
