Job Summary/Objective: 

The Radiologic/Mammography Technologist performs radiographic and mammographic imaging examinations and procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, but under the direction of the radiologist and/or ordering physician for diagnosis and possible treatment.  Assumes responsibility for designated areas of department operation as trained and required.  Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic.

  • Restrictions on the protected health information for this position will follow the Privacy Policies of Peoples Community Health Clinic, Inc.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provides general outpatient examinations and/or mammographic imaging exams.
  • Provides patient education.
  • Ensures proper inventory and operation of imaging equipment and supplies.
  • Completes and maintains patient records, files and/or reports with communication to providers and/or nursing staff as necessary.

  • Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.

Patient Population:

  • Neonate to geriatric. 

 

Work Environment/Personal Protective Equipment:

This position operates in a clinical environment, PPE required as indicated.

Physical Demands:

This position requires occasional sitting –(Approximately 25% of shift); frequent standing (approximately 50% of shift); occasional walking –(approximately 25% of shift); occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequent pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.(34%-66% of shift) and occasionally 11lbs. – 100lbs (1% - 33% of shift); frequent use of hands/arms for repetitive movement and continuous finger dexterity; occasional bending/stooping, twisting, squatting/crouching, and reaching at, below and above shoulder level (25% of shift).

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Typically work hours and days are between Monday and Friday,8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and some flexibility in hours is allowed. Responsibilities occasionally may require irregular hours as deemed necessary. This may include an adjusted work schedule, long days, and early morning or late evening hours in order to meet client scheduling demands. The employee must work a minimum of 40.0 hours each week to maintain full-time status. 

 

Travel:

Occasional driving might be expected for this position.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiologic Technology.
  •  Associate degree or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Three years of experience as a diagnostic radiologic technologist required.

 

Licensure:

  • Holds Iowa Permit-to-Practice Radiography from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
  • Holds current registration with the A.R.R.T as a Radiologic Technologist.  
  • Certification in mammography strongly preferred or willingness to obtain. 
  • Current BLS and Mandatory Reporter Certification required. 
  • Must successfully complete criminal background check, sex offender registry check, adult/child abuse registry check, and licensure check.
