Job Description:

This position will serve as a subject matter expert in procurement category management, responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive sustainable competitive advantage in indirect spending categories. This is a hybrid position; primary day to day activities will occur as a remote employee, however, candidates must reside within a reasonable distance of the Tampa location to ensure availability for on-site collaboration as needed. This status is subject to change at the company’s discretion.

Responsibilities:
• Designing and implementing category and sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, delivering cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Enhancing sustainability and competitiveness through effective supply chain sourcing and management.
• Mitigating risk exposure within the category by leveraging best-in-class procurement practices.
• The Procurement Category Lead will play a pivotal role, with responsibilities including other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and execute Business Integration & Strategic Collaboration.
  • Align procurement strategies with broader company objectives.
  • Advocate and communicate the value of indirect procurement across the business, ensuring its role in driving efficiency and strategic advantage.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with executive leaders and key stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and Facilities to support capital investments, projects, and shared services.
  • Category Strategy & Implementation
  • Develop and execute category strategies for Capex, MRO, IT, HR, Professional Services, ensuring:
  • Alignment with business priorities, functional objectives, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Sustainable cost efficiencies through optimized commercial levels and procurement models.
  • Performance targets encompassing service levels, quality, supply chain reliability, and risk management.
  • Utilization of data-driven market insights and innovative sourcing solutions to maximize value within the category.
  • Adoption of best procurement practices and systems across the internal stakeholder community.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and execute Supplier Management & Governance
  • Develop supplier relationship management (SRM) strategies for key vendors within the category.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and data integrity within the company’s ERP system to support informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and execute Reporting & Compliance
  • Ensure transparent, accurate, and consistent procurement data within purchasing information systems.
  • Manage functional and business reporting against procurement performance metrics with a focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Conduct all procurement activities in alignment with ethical standards, company policies, and compliance frameworks.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of purchasing/materials management experience, preferably working in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or equivalent experience preferred.

Travel: 10%

Security: US Citizenship required and the ability to obtain secret clearance.
