Position Summary

The Managing Director – Canadian Division will serve as the senior leader responsible for overseeing DAVACO’s operations, strategy, and growth in the Canadian market. This role requires a proven executive who can drive operational excellence, foster client relationships, ensure project profitability, and lead high-performing teams across multiple service lines. The Managing Director will work closely with the U.S. executive team to align Canadian operations with the company’s overall strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Canadian operations comply with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations, as well as corporate governance and ethical business practices.
  • Develop and execute the Canadian division’s business plan in alignment with DAVACO’s corporate strategy.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share in Canada.
  • Provide strategic oversight of project execution, ensuring quality, on-time delivery, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including project management, field services, logistics, and facilities maintenance programs.
  • Implement operational best practices and ensure compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and safety standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure profitability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage the Canadian division’s budget, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Drive cost control measures and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial targets.
  • Review and approve major contracts, vendor agreements, and capital expenditures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and strategic partners in the Canadian market.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for major accounts, addressing escalations and ensuring long-term client satisfaction.
  • Represent DAVACO Canada in industry events, networking functions, and community engagements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Canadian leadership team and staff to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
  • Ensure succession planning and professional growth opportunities for key roles within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Construction Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, construction, project management, or related industries.
  • Proven success in managing P&L, driving revenue growth, and leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian market dynamics, regulations, and business practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with U.S.-based corporate leadership.
  • Bilingual in English and French not required but is an asset.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel within Canada as needed; occasional travel to the U.S. headquarters for executive meetings.
