POSITION: Lead Registered Behavior Technician
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager and Clinical Supervisor
Job Summary: The Lead Registered Behavior Technician is a leadership track position. The Lead Registered Behavior Technician
will apply empirically based behavioral principles to all clients that the Registered Behavior Technician works with. The
Registered Behavior Technician functions as an integral part of the treatment team and ensures that all necessary
documentation is completed in a timely manner to benefit the clients that the Registered Behavior Technician works with. The
Lead Registered Behavior Technician will also provide support the Operations Manager and BCBAs as needed. This is an hourly position.
Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions
with or without reasonable accommodations.
1. Applies empirically based Applied Behavior Analysis principles consistently, including assessment skill acquisition and
behavior reduction strategies in all interactions with clients and staff
2. Implements Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs) under the direction of the Clinical Supervisors
3. Teaches the clients to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skills as stated in the ITPs
4. Assists clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills. This may include toilet training, eating,
and other self-help skills
5. Is a team-player and assists with ideas, suggestions and work duties
6. Participants in ongoing site based clinical training
7. Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, therapist
trainers, therapists and clients
8. Works with clients, staff, families, and community to implement client's treatment plans
9. Consistently implements behavior plans to reduce client's socially inappropriate behavior and promote appropriate
social behaviors
10. Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations which may include client physical aggression and property
destruction
11. Completes daily session notes and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent in a timely manner
12. Follows Behavior Analysist Certification Board policies and procedures including the Registered Behavior Technician
handbook
13. Follows Adapt for Life and Adaptive Community Support Services policies and procedures, including adhering to
confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
14. Maintain the Behavior Analysist Certification Board portal, including, renewals, self-reporting, and other requirements
15. Submit all notes and other necessary documentation on time
16. Assist the OM and Clinical Director/BCBA (s) as needed, not limited to operational, training, programming, and other
general clinic duties (such as cleaning)
Expected Duration in position:
1-5 years of Lead Registered Behavior Technician experience is the expectation before being considered for the position of
Apprentice. Consideration for advancement is at the discretion of the Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) based on
the Lead Registered Behavior Technician completion of required training and coursework and ability to demonstrate
competencies requirements of the Registered Behavior Technician role.

Requirements
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
1. High School diploma, preferably some college
2. Must be 18 years or older at the time of hire
3. Applied Behavior Analysis, Medicaid, Waiver and Private Insurance experience preferred
4. Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with people at all levels of the organization
5. Great interpersonal and people skills
6. Certified Registered Behavior Technician
7. Clear abuse registry check
8. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be physically able to respond appropriately at all times when working directly with a patient
2. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs
3. Must be able to react quickly to behavior outbursts in children and young adults
4. Must be able to effectively use 'response blocking' procedures to protect self and clients from injury at all times when
working directly with the client
5. Must be able to utilize crisis management (e.g., manual restraint) procedures where/when needed or directed
6. Must be able to be on your feet a minimum of four hours per day
