Eaglecrest Ski Area - Alaska's Best Kept Secret is Hiring!
We are looking for a journey level mechanic with a ski lift focus to join our Eaglecrest Team.
The CBJ Assembly has requested a standard salary review for Eaglecrest positions.
Final salaries will be confirmed following approval by the Eaglecrest Board and the CBJ Assembly.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced lift mechanic with at least four (4) years of experience and good communication skills to lead the Eaglecrest team of lift mechanics. Experience with Riblet chairlift is preferred. The ideal candidate will be looking to work for a smaller community ski area and will be enthusiastically participate in future planned growth and lift replacements over the next 10 years. Eaglecrest is located in Southeast Alaska with amazing access to fishing, hunting, hiking and miles of wilderness in the Tongass National Forest. You should not be afraid to work in the rain and live a rural lifestyle.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
You will be expected to work the Eaglecrest Operating Winter Schedule, 7:00am to 4:00pm Wednesday through Sunday, weekends and holidays will be mandatory; and the Summer Schedule, 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Working overtime hours during holiday periods will be expected.
Your primary office will be in the Eaglecrest Maintenance Shop at 3000 Fish Creek Road.
Position Duties
You will be the primary person responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ski lifts in their entirety.
This shall include: leading and completing winter and summer annual lift maintenance and repair work; prioritizing and ensuring execution of all repairs of lifts and parts equipment by lower-level mechanic staff, maintaining accurate and precise maintenance and daily operational logs for all lifts, maintaining adequate spare parts inventory and scheduling to limit down time on ski lifts.
You will be expected to mentor lower-level lift mechanics and plan for continuing education for yourself and lower-level staff. You will work with the Director of Mountain Operations to plan for capital improvements and lift replacement of aging lifts to meet the needs of year around operations. You will be expected to maintain current NDT certifications and perform annual testing on required lift parts. It is expected that you will work in the field leading annual line and tower repair work with support from other mechanics and mountain operations staff. You will be expected to be knowledgeable on all changes in the ANSI B77 code and maintain compliance with all State regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
None
Experience:
Four (4) years of maintenance experience on aerial ski lifts.
And
One year of experience directing or leading the work activities of staff (may be concurrent with experience above).
Substitution:
None
Other:
A valid driver's license at time of appointment and for continued employment.
Experience with diesel heavy machinery is preferred.
Must be able to work in high places, in adverse weather conditions, long hours, and be able to shovel snow for extended periods of time.
