About the Department
Under the general direction of the Director, the Community Prevention Project Manager is responsible for supervising the Prevent Coalition staff members and coordinating Prevent Coalition Initiatives, ensuring alignment with community needs and all federal, state and private grant requirements.
Salary:
The full compensation range for this position is $79,775.40 - $97,074.47. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
Assignment:
This person in this position will work 8 hours per day, 240 days per year.The Community Prevention Project Manager serves as a key leader in advancing coalition-driven substance use prevention efforts across the six county ESD 112 region. This role is responsible for supervising the Prevent Coalition staff members and coordinating Prevent Coalition Initiatives, ensuring alignment with community needs and all federal, state and private grant requirements. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and effective collaborator with proven experience in leadership, coalition-building, and project management. A strong foundation in prevention science, along with a commitment to equity-centered public health practices, is essential to success in this role.

Position Duties
Essential Functions:
- Hire, train, supervise and coach designated staff to implement prevention services within the ESD 112 region.
- Manage grant and funding requirements by monitoring progress on work plans, providing feedback to staff, and ensuring necessary documentation is completed and submitted including all required data entry.
- Assist with the development and management of grant budgets, tracking discretionary spending, approving staff timesheets and travel, and assisting with program billing.
- Oversee development and tracking of all personal service subcontracts, invoices and cost reimbursement process.
- Plan and facilitate staff meetings to encourage support and sharing of best practices.
- Assist with program development and grant writing.
- Provide strategic leadership for all Prevent Coalition initiatives, ensuring alignment and coordination across multiple funding streams.Oversee development and implementation of regional and local strategic plans in collaboration with funders, community partners, and leadership staff to ensure responsive, community-driven prevention efforts.
- Serve as staff member for the coalition to plan, implement and report on prevention strategies while promoting evidence-informed, equity-centered approaches that emphasize youth empowerment, cultural responsiveness, and trauma informed practices.
- Expand community outreach through stakeholder engagement, presentations, school awareness events, newsletters, and all media outlets.
- Leverage community data to guide planning, identify gaps in services, and drive continuous improvement across coalition initiatives.
Other Functions:
- Partner with ESD 112 Communication Staff to effectively plan and deliver messaging that advances Prevent Coalition's goals and initiatives.
- Partner with all ESD 112 Prevention Programs staff to plan and deliver school and community prevention efforts that advance Prevent Coalition’s goals and initiatives.
- Attend and represent Prevent in other coalition meetings throughout the six county region.
- Other duties as assigned to support the success of the agency.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Education, Communications, Social Sciences, or closely related field.
- Two years of experience in community organizing, program coordination, or community- based programs involving youth, drug/alcohol/tobacco abuse, or other related community health prevention or counseling.
- Working knowledge of substance use prevention and prevention science, community development and mobilization, youth development principles, and community organizing approaches.
- Ability to create and sustain effective relationships with community partners, foster and share leadership among individuals in the community, and build bridges among diverse community members and organizations.
- Two years of experience in staff supervision.
- Master's Degree.
- Certified Prevention Professional certification (CPP).
- Experience working with rural or underrepresented communities, applying an equity lens.
- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.

Working Conditions:

- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
