Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, you will set up, operate and troubleshoot our hydraulic press equipment to produce high-quality metal components in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate punch press machines to produce parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manufacture orders, and manufacturing drawings.
- Load raw materials and position workpieces on the press.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust controls as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on the punch press.
- Inspect finished parts for defects or deviations using measuring tools.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S).
- Collaborate with production team members to meet daily production goals.
- Report any machine malfunctions or safety hazards to maintenance or supervisors immediately.
Requirements
Skills, Education & Experience
The following are education and experience criteria used to evaluate suitability for this role:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience operating hydraulic punch press machines, or similar equipment, is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Mechanically minded and willing to be cross trained in a variety of Fabrication functions.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to press operations.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating a punch press preferred
- Experience operating a forklift preferred
Job Conditions
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work long hours doing repetitive movements.
- Must be able to bend and reach items at ground level and above the head.
- Must be able to work on feet, standing and walking throughout the factory for up to 10 hours per day.
- Must be able to wear PPE; to include, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, face shields.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures; requires adherence to safety protocols and teamwork in a production-driven atmosphere.
