We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Improvement and Insights Advisor to join the Portfolio Strategy & Analytics team within the Energy Solutions division. This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth, WA.
Reporting to the Manager, Improvement & Performance, the Business Improvement and Insights Advisor plays a critical role in enhancing APA’s strategic and operational decision-making. Operating within the Energy Solutions (Business Development, Commercial and Major Projects) team, this nationally focused role is responsible for uncovering performance drivers, developing meaningful KPIs, and delivering actionable insights through robust reporting and analysis.
Beyond performance analytics, the Advisor will champion business improvement initiatives that unlock commercial value, optimise cost and investment decisions, and drive strategic outcomes. Working within a matrixed organisation, the role requires strong influencing skills to align diverse stakeholders and embed a culture of continuous improvement across functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support initiatives that improve business processes, enhance commercial performance, and deliver measurable value
- Analyse commercial, operational, and financial data to identify performance trends and business improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain performance frameworks and KPIs aligned with strategic objectives and commercial outcomes
- Build and evolve reporting suites and dashboards to support decision-making across the business
- Partner with stakeholders across functions — including Commercial, Business Development, Project Development, Operations, and Finance — to ensure performance insights are understood and acted upon
- Support strategic planning and budgeting cycles with performance analysis and forecasting, contributing to commercial strategy and investment prioritisation
Your Background
- Demonstrated ability to drive a high-performance culture through data-driven insights, commercial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven experience in performance analysis, business intelligence, or strategic advisory roles, ideally with exposure to business improvement or transformation initiatives.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and strategic recommendations that influence commercial and operational outcomes.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, or similar.
- Understanding of the Oil & Gas sector, particularly midstream operations, or Power (and Renewables) is highly desirable.
