SUMMARY

The Digital Embellisher Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the ZRX Digital Embellisher to enhance preprinted jobs with foil and spot varnish in accordance with job specifications. This role ensures high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process while adhering to safety procedures and deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set-up and operate the ZRX Digital Embellisher for preprinted jobs, ensuring proper (registration) quality and foiling standards are achieved throughout each run. Verify correct Spot Varnish and Foil file is being used as per job ticket. Read and understand all aspects of the job ticket. 
• Use of AQ, UV and soft-touch coating
• Knowledge of different substrates, text weights, cover stocks and synthetics 
• Coordinate with the Digital Pressroom Manager to produce and prioritize jobs, and when necessary, reorganize schedule to meet deadline changes and updates.
• Visually inspect coated sheets (streaks, scratches, roughness, etc.) and for wrinkles during coating process, and make any adjustments as needed. All jobs must have smooth application of coating.
• Make sure the coating, varnish and foil covers the specific image area.
• Loading and Prepping Spot varnish files on software, knowledge of pdf and layers
• Maintain proper daily care of machinery, start up and wash up procedures and follow all safety standards.
• Use of hand jack to move heavy pallets of material and lifting to 50lbs at a time.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS

• High school diploma or G.E.D. 
• Having some knowledge of graphic arts and printing industry is very beneficial to this position.
• Working knowledge of digital printing procedures. 
• This position also requires a mechanical background, the ability to work independently and good working knowledge of the computer.
