Position Summary: Ensure the safety of all participants, employees and volunteers throughout the Corn Maze. Provide logistical oversight of participants, maze attractions and facilities.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Manage Maze Staff and Volunteers: Greet Maze Staff and Volunteers upon arrival. Coordinate employee and volunteer shift changes; assign them to their work area based on predetermined schedules, ensure that opening and closing checklists are completed each day. Train volunteers on-site as needed.
2. Maintain accurate on-site accounting of all cash and credit transactions: Supervise ticket & merchandise sales, ensuring the iPads are charged and logged into Square Up, with assistance from another staff member count the cash and reconcile it with Square Up. Make the bank deposit using the provided key.
3. Monitor event facilities: Continually monitor cash box levels, maze attractions, restrooms, and all common areas for functionality and cleanliness. Notify Eliada’s maintenance department if there are equipment failures or ongoing facilities issues.
4. Maintain partnership with the concession stand staff: Inventory food/drinks at concession stand and provide volunteer support if necessary.
5. Weekday Manager – Collaborate during school field-trips &/or corporate nights, as needed – including assistance setting up, training external staff or volunteers, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for mitigating and resolving customer service issues (e.g. escalations).
2. Ensure the provision of quality services to all guests through participation in the agency’s CQI process.
3. Display competence & responsiveness to cultural differences present in both customer & employee
population
Reporting Relationship:
Position reports to: Antoine Byndum, Advancement Data Services & Special Events Coordinator
Weekday Manager
Must be available to work 3rd and 4th weeks in September and every week in October.
Shifts: Tuesday-Thursday (8:30 AM-7:30 PM); Fridays (8:30 AM-1:30 PM).
Weekend Manager
Must be available to work 3rd and 4th weekends in September and every weekend in October.
Shifts: Fridays (2 PM-8 PM); Saturdays (9 AM-8 PM;) Sundays (9 AM-7 PM).
*Hiring for 2 Shifts*
Note: Shift availability and timing is dependent on client bookings.
Requirements
Knowledge: Basic event management procedures; capacity to use Square Up technology.
Experience: Customer service and cash handling preferred. Must be 18 years or older.
Skills/physical/working conditions: Must be available for staff orientation. Must possess a valid driver's license, pass background check, and drug test. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk around indoors and outdoors for duration of shift, up to 12 hours. Must be willing and able to drive a tractor. On-site training provided.
