What the Events Line Cook does! 


As an Events Line Cook, you’ll execute seasonal menu items designed around world class Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays for winery events. Working at the Los Gatos Winery, the day to day may include: 

  • Executing menu items at the winery including plating of salad, entrees, appetizers and desserts and buffet items based on the design of the Chef de Cuisine
  • Setting up, breaking down and cleaning, including food transport from catering van
  • Organizing, rotating, and assessing inventory levels of food storage areas 
  • Working efficiently in a face-paced environment
  • Working at the offsite commercial kitchen in San Jose to prep food prior to it's delivery to the winery, as needed

Requirements

As an Events Line Cook, you will bring:

  • 1+ year of kitchen experience or equivalent culinary education
  • ServSafe and/or California Food Handlers Certification
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Safe knife skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, be proactive, have a sense of urgency, a positive attitude and effective communication

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Must be available 2-3 evenings per week, plus holidays and weekends 
  • Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and reach frequently for the duration of the shift 
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Handles sharp and hot tools regularly
  • Frequently utilizes cleaning chemicals
  • Drive to/from the offsite kitchen in San Jose to the Winery in Los Gatos, as needed
