Job Summary:
The Personal Banker with Kleberg Bank holds a key role in the pursuit of excellence in every client’s banking relationship. The Personal Banker is a branch-based sales position that is responsible for building relationships with clients by taking a consultative approach to sales by proactively providing them with products and services to meet their financial needs always taking into consideration the Bank’s mission, vision and values.
As a Personal Banker, the primary goal is to acquire, expand and retain client relationships. You will take a lead role in meeting the branch sales objectives. The Personal Banker will proactively meet with clients face to face and over the telephone to discover their financial needs and provide product and service recommendations to both individual and small business clients that enhances the quality of the client experience in our “pursuit of excellence.” Personal Bankers are the clients’ direct point of contact to the bank and will be responsible for providing world-class customer service.

Essential Duties:
- Acquire, expand and retain client relationships with existing clients and prospects to achieve set sales and service goals. Goals are focused on enhancing the quality of our client’s banking experience.
- Take ownership of the entire client experience; including on-boarding new products/services as well as resolving service issues as appropriate through follow-up with the client.
- Responsible for understanding the features and benefits of products and services to clients with differing needs, along with the responsibility to present the value of products and services with empathy and enlightenment.
- Conduct discovery discussions with existing clients and prospects to understand background and identify banking needs through effective relationship building; clearly communicate potential solutions.
- Responsible for opening new accounts and taking loan requests for consumer and commercial customers (i.e. checking accounts, savings accounts, CD’s, IRA’s, and Loans )
- Cultivate internal relationships through effective communication in order to develop referrals with other lines of business partners in Commercial, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Indirect Lending, and Mortgage.
- Follow all compliance policies and procedures.
- Process all financial transactions in adherence to BSA/AML statutory and regulatory requirements in accordance to the procedures and policies established.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma.
- One year of administrative experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Minimum High School degree/GED or foreign equivalent
- 2 years banking experience
- Two years of related experience.
