Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
The Equipment Services Tech position is responsible for a wide variety of diagnosis, comprehensive and preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of non-licensed equipment such as mowers, tractors, backhoes, and loaders. The employee in this position must have considerable mechanical experience and knowledge of this type of commercial landscaping equipment.
This position is subject to occasional over-time work including nights, weekends, and holidays and is considered a Service Critical position requiring personnel to report for duty in any and all weather-related events. A Class A Commercial Drivers License Permit must be obtained within 30 days and Class A Commercial Drivers License including tanker endorsement obtained with 120 days of hire to remain in this position. The physical requirements of the job include but are not limited to: lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, kneeling, climbing, bending and/or standing for long period of times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in hands-on technical duties related to fleet maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in all maintenance and repair activities.
- Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance programs on all non-licensed equipment in the department.
- Order, purchase, and stock all parts and supplies needed to maintain equipment.
- Keep and maintain inventory records of parts and materials, and book parts, materials and labor into the work order system.
- Keep and reconcile procurement card purchases and coordinate warranty work with vendors.
- Maintain service truck stock and tools for efficient field service.
- Maintain and repair the shop's hard structures as well as tools.
- Perform all duties listed as well as other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain records of service histories and repairs for fleet management purposes.
Skills:
- Ability to assess and prioritize work based on urgency and importance.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in fleet maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with 4 to 6 years of experience with fleet maintenance and repair, including technical knowledge of vehicles or landscape/farm machinery or related experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License “OR” ability to obtain with 120 days of hire.
- Computer Experience including the “Faster Equipment Inventory Software” or equivalent.
- Experience with diesel and gasoline engines and the ability to do repairs as needed.
- Experience with welding and metal fabrication.
- Experience with repairing small engines and landscaping equipment, etc.
