Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
General Summary:
- The primary purpose of this position is to provide medications and treatments for clients and to manage medications received from pharmacy.
- To provide medical and additional support to the department.
Hours: four, 10 - hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clinical support.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients
- Schedule appointments for patients as needed.
- Maintain and provide excellent communication with medical providers.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications and treatments for clients.
- Complete medication pass for clients on the inpatient units assigned
- Assist with admissions and discharges to the inpatient units
- Enroll clients in drug assistance programs; check in medication when it arrives.
- Work with pharmaceutical companies to obtain sample medications.
- Answer and/or triage patient calls and communicate with appropriate practitioner/provider follow up within allotted time frame as outlined in agency standards.
- Obtain vital signs.
- Follow up on requested labs to facilitate communication with the doctor and the client.
- Assist and provide support for the clinical and/or administrative staff within your scope of practice.
- Participate in agency-wide projects and staff development; comply with policies and procedures of agency; perform other related duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Position Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certification required and previous experience working with the SPMI population is preferred.
- Must become a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) within 90 days of hire.
- This position operates in a 24/7 department, eligible applicant must be available to work outside normal business hours including weekends and holidays
- CPR and First Aid trained and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) trained.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
