- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical system design, implementation, operation and maintenance.
- Minimum of 5 years heavy industrial/power plant engineering/maintenance experience.
- Supervisory Experience - 3 years of engineering supervision
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems design, operation and maintenance. This position requires a strong understanding of power generation principles, work practices and associated materials.
- Working knowledge of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and High Energy Piping (HEP) systems from an operational and failure mechanism standpoint.
- Understand welding principles and various methods of non-destructive examination (NDE) on piping and components, such as: VT, PT, PAUT, MT, etc.
- Establish a continuous collaborate reliability management process for Heat Recovery Steam Generators and High Energy Piping systems (HRSG-HEP) which involves the development of mechanical system Asset Criticality, Failure Mechanisms, Monitoring Plan, Health Indicators, Asset Risk Dashboards and Recommendation Management. (25%)
- Develop and facilitate coordinated implementation of a fleetwide predictive monitoring program which supports the Asset Class Monitoring Plans. Drive the continuous improvement and optimization in the effectiveness and cost of the monitoring plans through replacement of time-based maintenance with predictive maintenance and the use of innovative monitoring technologies. (25%)
- Facilitate the development and management of Recommendations for improvements of the mechanical asset Maintenance Strategy, e.g. capital projects, outages, operational limitations, monitoring and analysis of asset condition (non-destructive examination and other inspections and sampling) and prioritize work planning and scheduling. Proved recommendations to the short and long-term capital projects planning for our generating facilities (15%)
- Provide project engineering leadership on assigned projects at all power stations. This includes ensuring engineering efforts are planned and executed as planned and scheduled, designs are well coordinated, appropriate engineering input into project execution plans, and engineering is performed per company standards and procedures. (15%)
- Advise and assist Outage and Project Management (E&PM) personnel in developing engineering specifications, scopes of work and contracts, major equipment contracts, project schedules, cost estimates, and project justifications. (10%)
- Facilitate root cause analysis, tracking of reliability metrics and management of change including the evaluation of changes to mechanical systems, benchmarking and the tracking of functional performance and condition of mechanical systems. Perform other duties as may be assigned. (10%)
