Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Access patients’ medical history, explain procedures, and prepare them for imaging or radiation therapy. This includes starting IV lines, administering contrast agents, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition during imaging or radiation therapy, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications, managing pain, and educating patients on aftercare and potential side effects.
- Administer medications, including sedatives and pain relievers, as needed during procedures.
- May operate some radiology equipment and ensure its proper functioning for accurate results.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure, what to expect, and how to care for themselves after the procedure.
- Trained to respond to emergencies and adverse events that may occur during or after procedures.
- Coordinates care between the radiology department and other healthcare units, ensuring smooth transitions and efficient patient flow.
- Documents patient assessments, procedures, and any adverse events, and report findings to the relevant healthcare team.
- Assists radiologists with minimally invasive procedures, such as angiograms and biopsies, by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and passing instruments.
Skills, Education and Experience:
- Current RN nursing license
- Strong understanding of radiology procedures and equipment
Recruitment Bonus:
We are now offering a Clinical Recruiting Bonus of $25,000 dollars for new employees! Rehires are not eligible for this bonus. This bonus will be paid out over four years. You will remain eligible for payments after hire so long as there is no drop below full-time in employment status.
