Duties

We are seeking a highly skilled and security-focused Cryptographer to support a mission-critical cybersecurity program for our federal government customer. In this role, you will design, evaluate, and implement cryptographic solutions to safeguard sensitive health data, ensure compliance with federal security standards, and support enterprise security architecture initiatives. 

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in modern cryptographic algorithms, secure communications protocols, and risk-based data protection strategies in a federal or regulated environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and scope the organizational migration to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). Assist with the development of the PQC Migration Plan. 
• Update and maintain the approved PQC Migration Plan and provide monthly status reports. 
• Work with supply chain vendors to identify technologies that need to migrate from quantum- vulnerable cryptography to PQC. 
• Develop a PQC Migration Playbook that can be leveraged by the variety of cloud-based and on-premises systems. 
• Assist with the development of a PQC Working Group. 
• Collect, analyze, and maintain data and metrics surrounding the system PQC migration efforts. 
• Conduct monthly reviews of documentation and research papers related to cryptography.  
• Assist with the review and analysis of security standards, procedures, and best practices documentation that need to be changed or replaced in accordance with federal laws and regulations, as well as installation, configuration, and administration documentation. 
• Support, maintain, and update a prioritized inventory of systems and assets with quantum-vulnerable cryptography. 

Requirements

• A master’s degree and 15 years total experience. 
• At least 2 years of experience with Cryptography or degree in Mathematics with 3 years of experience in a role as a Mathematician. 
• Requires an active SECRET clearance. 
• Federal experience desired. 
• Cybersecurity experience and understanding desired.
