Job Title: Operations Supervisor
Department: Ski & Snowboard School

Status: Seasonal FT

Reporting To: Ski & Snowboard School Senior Manager


Position Overview:


The Powder Mountain Ski & Snowboard School is seeking a guest-oriented, self-motivated Operations Supervisor to lead our team of Operations Technicians. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring the daily setup and takedown of ski school fencing, signage, and on-hill animations are executed with precision and care. The Operations Supervisor will work closely with the Ski & Snowboard School Leadership Team and play an active role in shaping both the day-to-day experience and long-term success of the school.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Be team-oriented and laser focused on providing a positive guest experience on the snow and in Powder Mountain facilities. 
  • Updates the Team Member Evaluation Tracking spreadsheet frequently with pertinent information used in Mid/End of Season Evaluations. 
  • Lead a team of Operations Associates to ensure safe, functional, and visually professional on-hill setups that support learning and guest experience.
  • Oversee daily installation and removal of ski and snowboard school fencing in and around the Sundown base, Sun Tunnel learning area, and across designated beginner zones like Confidence and Slingshot Alley.
  • Manage the placement and upkeep of on-hill animations and signage used to enhance the guest learning environment.
  • Schedule and assign Operations Associates according to business needs, weather conditions, and terrain openings.
  • Maintain a high standard of appearance and function for fencing, signage, and animation across all learning areas.
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching and direction, and address quality or safety concerns proactively.
  • Support broader ski and snowboard school operations as needed, including assisting with lunch pickup, managing equipment for special programs, and responding to on-hill logistical needs.
  • Coordinate closely with school supervisors and trainers to align fencing and signage with daily lesson plans and learning progression goals.
  • Maintain accurate labor tracking and ensure operational tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and performance reviews for the Operations Associate team.
  • Communicate clearly with other departments, including Lift Operations, Patrol, and Grooming, to coordinate access, terrain changes, or special setups.
  • Assist with setup and takedown for events or specialty programming, including Neighbors and Holiday Week activities.

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

  • PSIA / AASI Level 1 or equivalent

Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs)
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
  • Climb/descend stairs/ladders
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis
  • Safely handle hazardous materials


Working Environment:


Must be able to work outdoors in extreme conditions for extended periods of time.
