Description

The Cedars is looking for a Nursing Scheduling Coordinator to join our team!

Position Overview:

The Nursing Scheduling Coordinator will provide assistance to the Director of Nursing by preparing staff schedules, assisting with conducting reference checks for prospective staff members, and coordinates completion of new hire tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

Staff Scheduling:

  • Prepare an accurate and complete schedule for nursing staff
  • Track and post changes, approve trades under the direction of the DON
  • Maintain attendance records recording call offs and tardies keeping the DON informed
  • Notify staff of open shifts as they occur using staffing software
  • Monitor and minimize staff overtime, notify DON of OT trends
  • Maintain accurate phone and email contact information for staff, notify HR of any change

Hiring Process:

  • Perform reference checks as directed by the DON

Appointment Scheduling:

  • Performs scheduling for Podiatrist visits to the facility every 10 weeks

 

General Functions:

  • Review and become familiar with content of employee handbook; observe facility policy and procedure.
  • Follow facility safety program, identify and report unsafe equipment, environment or procedure.
  • Report to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
  • Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
  • Perform all duties in an effective, timely and professional manner.
  • Engage in positive customer service interaction with participants, residents, employees, families, and visitors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee and facility information according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Adhere to the Corporate Compliance Program, conduct business using ethical standards and report suspect or actual events.
  • Complete employee education or training as directed or assigned by due date.
  • Perform any other related duties as directed by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registry with the state of Kansas as CNA/CMA
  • Must be eighteen (18)  years of age
  • Prefer prior experience scheduling staff, use of On-Shift or other staffing program experience desired
  • Prefer prior experience with medical records experience, but not required
  • Prefer prior experience in a long-term care setting
