Job Summary and Scope:
ATG is a leading provider of innovative solutions in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. We specialize in empowering our clients with cutting-edge Autodesk and Bluebeam solutions, elevating their productivity and profitability to gain a distinct competitive edge. Employment is full-time/salary, approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and may include some travel outside normal business hours.
As a Technical Expert, you will play a pivotal role in delivering unparalleled support to our AEC clients. Your primary focus will be providing technical expertise for Autodesk’s AEC software applications, ensuring our clients maximize the benefits of these powerful tools.
Essential Job Functions:
- BIM Implementation Planning:
- Develop and implement BIM execution plans for projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish BIM project standards and guidelines.
- Training and Education:
- Conduct training sessions for teams on BIM tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in BIM technology and share knowledge with team members.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among architects, engineers, and contractors through BIM.
- Coordinate and integrate BIM models from various disciplines to ensure clash detection and resolution.
- Modeling and Documentation:
- Develop and manage high-quality BIM models for structural elements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project-specific requirements.
- Generate construction documentation directly from the BIM model.
- Quality Assurance:
- Perform regular audits of BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Establish and enforce quality control processes for BIM deliverables.
- BIM Software Expertise:
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, or other industry-standard tools.
- Stay updated on software updates and improvements.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicate BIM processes and benefits to clients.
- Collaborate with clients to understand and meet their specific BIM requirements.
These responsibilities reflect the multifaceted role of a BIM consultant in the AEC industry, emphasizing not only technical expertise but also collaboration, communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
- BIM Experience: Significant experience (usually at least 3-5 years) working with BIM software, such as Autodesk Revit, or other industry-standard tools.
- AEC Industry Experience: Prior experience in the AEC industry, preferably in Structural design or related fields.
- Project Experience: Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing BIM on projects of varying scales and complexities.
Skills:
- BIM Software Proficiency: Expertise in using BIM software for Structural design and documentation. This includes proficiency in creating and managing BIM models.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex BIM concepts and requirements to team members and clients.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to BIM workflows and models.
- Quality Assurance: Knowledge of quality control processes and the ability to ensure the accuracy and completeness of BIM models.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines, and the ability to implement and enforce them.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of local and international regulations related to BIM in the AEC industry.
Additional Requirements:
- Client-Facing Skills: Experience in client interaction and the ability to understand and address client-specific BIM requirements.
- Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated on the latest BIM technologies, trends, and methodologies through ongoing professional development.
