OPPORTUNITY

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking to fill a position with a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a client in Chinle, AZ 86503.

LOCATION

Located in the heart of the Navajo Nation, the Health Care Facility is a federally operated IHS hospital providing inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and specialty care. POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician to deliver comprehensive medical services to patients of all ages. The physician will diagnose, treat, and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions while providing preventive and wellness care. This position requires adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to serving rural and underserved populations.

This role requires a strong clinical background, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical Services

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Conduct detailed histories, physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including prescribing medications.
  • Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and heart disease.
  • Treat acute illnesses, minor injuries, and urgent conditions as appropriate for the OPD setting.
  • Provide immunizations, preventive screenings, and health education.
  • Coordinate care and make appropriate referrals to specialty and support services.

Patient Education & Advocacy

  • Counsel patients and families on preventive health measures, treatment compliance, and lifestyle modification.
  • Promote health literacy and engage in culturally sensitive communication with Navajo Nation community members.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with physicians, other PAs/NPs, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health staff.
  • Participate in case reviews, team huddles, and quality improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure continuity of care.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian Health Service policies, federal regulations, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Participate in performance audits, chart reviews, and quality assurance programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a PA or NP in any U.S. state or territory.
  • National certification as a PA (NCCPA) or NP (ANCC, AANP, or equivalent).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • One or more years of primary care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered.
  • Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (typical)
  • On-call rotations: Evenings, weekends, and federal holidays as scheduled
  • May involve coverage for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department consults.
