This posting is for one (1) Temporary, Full-Time position with Benefits that may continue until August 15, 2026
The Edmonton Police Service requires a highly organized and competent property technician to work in our Exhibit Management Branch (Police Seized Vehicle Section) on a full-time, temporary basis. The major responsibilities of this position involve:
- Preparing unclaimed vehicles for disposal, including the removal of unclaimed property and the use of small power tools.
- May be required to facilitate the removal/confiscation of firearms.
- Providing customer service to police members and the public.
- Utilizing set policies and procedures, process court relevant exhibits and general property.
- Completion of a two (2) year Community College Diploma in Law Enforcement and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a stores operation.
- Experience using Microsoft applications.
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects and work outdoors during all weather conditions.
- Applicant must qualify for Community Peace Officer Status.
- A firearms safety course or related training would be considered an asset.
- Experience in use of a forklift/wheel loader would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team and provide superior customer service.
- Use of City of Edmonton Vehicle : Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers License. Must have or qualify for a City of Edmonton driving permit. Must have the ability to safely operate a 1 ton cube van, ½ ton truck or any other Class 5 vehicle. Applicant may be tested and be able to obtain a City Driver’s License.
- Operating a Forklift, Stock Pickers, Pallet Jacks, etc : Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License. Must have or qualify for a City of Edmonton driving permit. Must provide proof of Training Certificate and permit from the city of Edmonton.
Hours of Work:
33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.
Salary Range:
21M, Salary Grade: 013, $30.74 - $38.57 (Hourly), $2,075.00 - $2,604.10 (Bi-Weekly), $54,157.96 - $67,966.55 (Annually).
