We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Market Strategy Analyst to drive our company's growth in the energy sector. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our strategic direction across U.S. markets, with direct influence on key business decisions that will define our future. You'll gain deep expertise in competitive intelligence, business case development, and market positioning while working closely with senior leadership to expand into new markets and develop innovative offerings for renewables, batteries, and load-serving entities. You will be responsible for:
- Business Performance & Competitive Intelligence
- Evaluate Habitat's performance against external and internal benchmarks
- Support Client Relations and internal leadership in business performance reviews
- Identify and conduct ad hoc "key differentiator" analyses based on past performance
- Strategic Planning & Market Expansion
- Evaluate and refine business case planning for the US business spanning all market verticals
- Analyze competitive landscape to assess Habitat’s positioning & performance compared to them
- Conduct product-market fit analysis of current and planned service offerings, including assessing fit based on market needs and industry trends (regulatory or otherwise)
- Assess pricing strategies through win/loss analysis
New Offering Assessment & Partnership Development- Evaluate and build business cases for new strategic opportunities, including potential offerings (e.g., client portals), asset classes (e.g., VPPs) or potential M&A
- Conduct research and internal/external discussions to identify growth opportunities
- Market Positioning & External Communications
- Support Business Development team in defining messaging for current and planned service offerings
- Develop compelling content for pitch decks and other external communications
- Lead market positioning initiatives with marketing and PR teams
Preferred skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in strategy, consulting, business analysis, focused on developing business cases and strategic recommendations
- Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in Excel modeling and data analysis, as well as interest or basic understanding of Python and SQL
- Strong presentation development abilities and executive communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Excellent research capabilities and attention to detail
‘Nice to have’ skills and experience:
- Experience with energy markets, utilities, or renewable energy
- Experience in client segmentation and targeting
- Background in developing go-to-market strategies
- Proficiency with data visualization tools and advanced analytics
- Track record of entrepreneurial thinking and initiative
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving business environments
