Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:


  • Completes admission paperwork for all new residents admitted to the facility.




  • Maintains deposits of resident accounts and maintains copies of checks for records.




  • Bills for Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance.




  • Completes pre-certifications for Medicare Advantage Plans and sends updates.




  • Posts all payments, including Medicaid, and maintains copies of checks.




  • Completes admission and discharge procedures on all residents, monthly.




  • Completes DMA-59 for admissions to send with Medicaid applications. 




  • Completes DMA-59 for resident discharges.




  • Files and follows up on Medicaid applications and renewals, weekly.




  • Updates census and reports to Administrator, CFO and DON daily.




  • Calculates resident days for yearly cost reports and sends them to Accounting.




  • Completes credit balance reports for Medicaid for the Pavilion and presents quarterly reports.







  • Calculates resident days and reports monthly to the Administrator, CFO, Infection Preventionist and DON.




  • Runs trial balance weekly to ensure the resident has paid liability and Medicaid/Medicare has paid.




  • Maintains waiting list for referrals for back up to the Administrator. 




  • Attends Medicare/Medicaid seminars regarding Nursing Home issues.




  • Serves as backup for resident trust fund accounts.




  • Meets with the Administrator to give updates on billing progress.




  • Attends weekly Medicare meetings.




  • Performs all other job-related duties as requested.

Education/Qualification Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  2. Post secondary education in Book Keeping, Medical Records, and/or Billing is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  1. Previous experience in a long-term care environment is preferred but not required.
